Retrieve SharePoint Log

Applicable for SharePoint 2010, SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016
  1. From error page, click TECHNICAL DETAILS to get the Correlation ID and error timestamp

  2. From SharePoint Server(s), navigate to ULS log directory. *ULS log directory can be checked from Central Admin > Monitoring > Configure diagnostic logging
  3. Look for ULS log that match the error timestamp
